I just can't do it anymore. I had a dream, I set my goals and I have tried to follow my plan. As much as I wanted the dream to come true, I just can't do it right now.I would like to thank everyone for being so supportive this last while. Ever since I started this epic journey, I've met some really wonderful people in this community. They inspired me to challenge myself, set lofty goals and commit to unrelenting plans. I've given it a good shot, probably not my best effort, but certainly tried very hard. It just wasn't meant to be.
Now that I have thrown in the towel, what is in store for me next?
Pizza. Lots of it. Probably beer. Definitely a slice of pumpkin pie!
I HEREBY OFFICIALY QUIT the 21 Day challenge to eat healthy.
I'm still doing Ironman silly, what did you think I meant?!
So when I set out on this spur of the moment DUMB IDEA, I declared a few seemingly minor exceptions to the rules. The 21-day challenge was originally thought up by The Devil and seemed like a simple task. Eat healthy, No beer. Well I had to reserve a couple days for beer consumption due to peer pressure at xmas partys. This seemed harmless, and I also took the liberty of declaring 'Pizza' as a healthy meal. I can't remember a single week where I haven't had a pizza at LEAST once. I need my pizza.
The challenge started and a few pizza's later I was heckled a bit by the locals. If I am eating pizza, is that cheating? Should I be disqualified? Should I be allowed to make such an exception?
I quickly researched the nutritional value of pizza and found some supporting evidence for allowing me to continue, but truth be told the fat content and high calories gave me pause.
That has been eating away at the back of my mind the last few days. The end came after the wife brought home pizza again last night. It wasn't the healthy kind either. I ate till I couldn't eat no more.
Just not until the new year.
Actually an interesting thing happened this morning. After last night's pizza binge, I stepped on the scale and weighed in the lightest I have been in 15 years. I am telling you, pizza works for me! I think I've been borderline starving myself for so long that if I give my body a surge of calories, it stops trying to conserve energy or store some reserves. It just goes on a burning spree and I lose weight. That's my theory anyhow. :)
Training - Today is a much needed rest day!
