Slow Days

Thats how I feel

These last couple of days have been a low point. I've been tired before but this is on a whole other level. The day after the bike show I did absolutely nothing. There was a small glimmer of hope in the morning where I ALMOST got up for a run but one look outside and I was crushed. More snow. Like clockwork, it snows everytime I have a long run. Every. Time.

Sunday was the ultimate couch potatoe marathon. 12hrs of True Blood Season 2.  I didn't budge from the couch, I sat there all day long. Luckily the wife didn't do groceries because I probably would have stuffed my face the entire time too.

What Monday Looked like for me

That brings us to Monday. I took the day off work. I felt like someone had taken a baseball bat to my body. This wasn't sore muscles, this was extremely tight stiff everything. My whole body ached and I tried to stretch but nothing would give. I wonder if I'm ill. I have a sore throat, definitely from the bike show yelling over all the noise and talking to people all day but this could be turning into a cold? I don't know. I also figured sitting on the couch for an entire day didn't help either, so as punishment I went for that missed long run. That was a really tough, slow run. I felt like I was learning to run all over again, my pace was a good minute slower and I felt like an old man. I didn't even loosen up by the end, it just got tougher and tougher. No stretching helped, my muscles seized right up. I passed out when I got home, took an extremely deep power nap. I didn't feel better when I woke up, just more dizzy, disoriented and drained. The worst is I have endless pains in my calves and my left thigh.

Oh well, it will pass eventually. I need the warm weather to show as soon as possible. I can't stand another snow run, and I'm at my limit of indoor bike trainer. Talk about a mental drain.
