Wussies

I am beat.

No workouts for the next couple of days. I am still nowhere near recovered from last Sunday's race. I thought I could pull an active-recovery and lightly train my way through it but I'm just getting more tired and sloppy with each workout. Last nights long run was brutal, I felt like it was a marathon.
I am going to listen to my body on this one - taking a break. With an Olympic distance tri on the weekend, I have a feeling I'm going to be slower than molassesssss (spelling). I don't care at this point, OK well I do actually. I found out that some locals are also doing the race and I would have liked to of made it a friendly competition. Oh I will still do my best, but I am nowhere near 100%. Oh and I just found out Training Payne will be there too!! Yes, we all know he is getting old, phat and washed up but it's the only way I stand a chance of beating him. I just want the "I beat Training Payne" T-Shirt. :)

Right now the community is filled with buzz over Ironman Mont Tremblant. The people are coming out of the woodwork to be part of the awesomest party of all time! I can't believe how many suckers have signed up! It's going to be a blast. I also changed our hotel that was mentioned in the last post (see edits). We decided to all crash at the same place so its just going to be that much more awesome! Unfortunately a few key people are whimping out over the course. They dont know what they're missing!!! On the other hand a few people are going hardcore and taking a big risk signing up and trying it anyways - that takes guts! Kudos.
FOR THOSE NOT REGISTERED - GET SIGNED UP ALREADY!

In the meantime, I need to sort out this Olympic tri on the weekend. I don't have much motivation to do it, my body is giving me the middle finger right now so its not at the top of my list of things I feel like doing. I'm just going to show up and try to have fun though. The bike course is horrific. Like I may as well bring my cyclocross bike, the roads ARE THAT BAD. I'm not pleased about that. I kinda wish I didn't sign up. Regardless this is the last race before IMLP so I'll go make the best of it.

I am going to treat myself to pizza tonight. My weight is back down, as most of it was repair water anyways, and its time for me to carb load! Speaking of carb loading, I totally believe that a post workout cold beer is the greatest recovery drink evar! Seriously, I wish I discovered this earlier in the training program. I'm making a habit of it.

We opened our pool and I still haven't been in it yet. Actually I dont think anyone has yet. I planned to jump in it after my workouts but it just hasn't worked out that way yet. Maybe tonight or tomorrow. I have to look at the weather forecast.

TRAINING:

Swim: 0:50hrs
Bike: 1:20hrs
Run: 1:50hrs

  4. Thanks for the heads up about the roads! Glad to hear I'm not the only one not overly psyched, maybe for the run part ;-) I mean I am looking forward to it, first triathlon since 2008, but oh that swim. Good luck.

  6. So excited about IMMT! I'm not freaking at all, it isn't nearly as hard as LP or WI and those are my standards so I should be able to drink more beer and chill out :) Where are you staying?
